Final Project

Description

One of the task that you will probably have to accomplish if you are managing an installation of Oracle Applications is to be able to add/edit/delete custom features for your buisness. Often these features are in the form of some batch process. This project involves installing a shell script command into Oracle Applications so that it can be scheduled and run as a concurrent process.

You learned earlier in the class that a shell script actually runs as a separate process in the operating system; therefore, it is a batch command that can be run within the Oracle Applications Concurrent Processor server. Install the last shell script that you created previously in the class into Oracle Applications as a command and schedule it to run as a concurrent process.

You have intentionally been given little direction on how to complete this task. You will often be given new tasks in real live but not know how to solve them. Part of this exercise is to help you build the skills necessary to solve this type of problem on your own.

Deliverable

The deliverable for the project is an instructional manual on how to install and run a shell script (command) into Oracle Applications to run as a concurrent process, and a presentation ( Powerpoint) that demonstrates the steps that you took. Use the resources provided below as a starting point to solve this problem. I will be available in class to guide your discovery process and answer questions.

This project is due prior to the last week of the semester.
